Today, specialists of Belgorod Institute of Alternative Energy have delivered a lecture on prospects for further renewable energy sources development in Belgorod region for Power Engineering Institute students.

After short film presentation about “clean energy” Belgorod Institute of Alternative Energy senior vice-president Roman Kudinov have put students in touch with different types of energy sources, applied in Belgorod region and Russia. Continuing his speech, senior vice-president has told about next point of presentation – “AltEnergo” objects. Students were interested both in alternative energy sources working principles and solar-wind and biogas power plants efficiency. Special attention has been given to the fact that Belgorod biogas power plant is the biggest one in Russia, and this is not the last biogas power plant project in the region. It is planned about 150 biogas power plants up to 2020 with the total capacity 220 MW.

It means that there is a need for highly skilled specialists, who will be ready to work at such new for russian energetics ecologically clean objects.
As a response for such challenge of time Power Engineering Institute of Belgorod State Technological Institute according to the head of electric power engineering department , Candidate of Science Engineering, professor Mikhail Nesterov, a new specialization is being open – “unconventional and alternative energy sources”. Third-year students are already asked to study at this new department. Moreover, the chair already has all necessary equipment, including active solar -wind power plant.

After the lecture has been finished, students examined peculiarities of electric transport – electric car, delivered to University’s training ground, and some students were asking about traineeship at technical grounds of “AltEnergo”.
