a flammable gas mixture, produced by the breakdown of organic matter in the absence of oxygen as the result of anaerobic digestion (methane fermentation).
Wind generator
a device, that converts kinetic wind energy to electric current. Connected industrial wind generators make up wind power plant.
Solar panel
a set of PV cells converting solar energy into direct current. To obtain alternating current it is necessary to use invertors.

AltEnergois Russian Company specializing in realization of innovative projects in the field of renewable energy. It was founded in 2009.

The company deals with popularization, testing, implementation of newest technologies.

AltEnergo has implemented 3 pilot projects in Belgorod region:

  • Solar power plant
  • Wind power plant
  • Biogas plant 'Luchki''

Solar power plant was implemented in October 1,2010. Thetotal capacity is 100 kW. This is a pilot project,that works with different types of equipment. There are 1320 photovoltaic modules of two types (polycrystalline and amorphous) with active surface 1230 m2.

Wind power plantwas implemented on August 1,2010. The total capacity is 100 kW. There are 5 wind generators with the nominal peak power generation 20 kW. Start-up wind speed - 2.5 m/c. Rated wind speed - 11.5 m/c.

Biogas plant 'Luchki'' is the biggest one in Russia. It has producedit's first electricity on June 25, 2012 and reached the full capacity onJuly 20, 2012.

Technical and economic characteristics:
Electricity output- 19,6 million kW annually
Thermal energy output - 18,2 thousand gCal annually
Organic fertilizers production - 66,8 thousand tones annually
Waste processing 73.4 thousand tones annually

In Belgorod region the power plant's energy potentialin waste utilization is 223.2 mW.

The long-term regional program "Development of renewable energy sources in the Belgorod region in 2013 - 2015 and for the period up to 2020" was approved by Regional Government.

The main program goals are:

  • Electricity output - 1766 million kWh annually;
  • Thermal poweroutput - 1693 thousand gCal annually;
  • Carbon dioxidereduction - 1324 million tones annually;
  • Agricultural waste processing - 14.5 million tones annually;
  • Municipal solid waste utilization - 3.7 million m3;
  • Waste water treatment - 148.5 million m3;
  • Electricity supply to consumers- 1124 thousand people
  • Creation and modernization of more than 10,000 high-skilled jobs.
